Yes. A Stable virtual mailbox gives you a real physical street address you can use to register your LLC or corporation with the state, file with the IRS, and maintain on file with vendors, payroll providers, and other business contacts. Because it's a permanent address that belongs to Stable's facilities (not your home) you keep your personal address off the public record.
When you sign up for a Stable virtual mailbox, your mail is delivered to your chosen business address and routed to one of our in-house processing facilities, where it's opened, scanned, and uploaded to your Stable Dashboard. You'll receive a notification by email or Slack as soon as it's available. From there, you have full digital access to every piece of mail and can take action immediately: forward it, shred it, deposit a check, assign it to a teammate, or let your automation rules handle it. You can also set up rules to automatically open and scan the contents of any mail that matches your criteria, so nothing sits waiting for a manual decision.
A registered agent is a designated person or service responsible for receiving official legal and government correspondence on behalf of your business: things like lawsuit service of process, state compliance notices, and tax documents. Every LLC, corporation, and other formal business entity is required by law to have a registered agent in every state where it's registered to do business. That means if you expand into multiple states, you need a registered agent in each one. While you can act as your own registered agent, doing so comes with trade-offs: your address becomes part of the public record in that state, and any legal proceedings against your business (including service of process) will be delivered to you directly, and without warning. With Stable, your registered agent receives official documents on your behalf across all 50 U.S. states and territories. Every document we receive is digitized and uploaded to your Stable Dashboard alongside your regular business mail, so you have instant access to everything in one place
Yes, Stable can handle check deposits remotely. Stable can process mail-in check deposits and electronic deposits through an intermediary account. Once we receive mail containing a check, we’ll classify it as a check and place it in the Finance section of your dashboard. Simply let us know that you’d like to deposit a check or configure checks to automatically deposit when setting up your bank account. The fees for mail-in check deposits and electronic deposits are the same. Electronic deposits are only available to eligible customers. You can contact priority@usestable.com to find out if you are eligible for electronic deposits.

All mail data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is permission-based, and every action in your account is logged for auditing and accountability. That level of security isn't just for specific industries, it's the foundation of how we operate for every customer, whether you're a solo founder, a distributed operations team, or a multi-entity enterprise. Stable also offers secure mail shredding so physical mail is destroyed after it's processed, with your digital copy retained in the dashboard indefinitely.

Once your mail is scanned and uploaded to your Stable Dashboard, the digital copy is yours to access, search, tag, and act on for as long as you're a customer. There are no storage limits on scanned mail. Physical mail is stored at our facility for up to 30 days. Before anything is shredded, we'll send you a reminder so you have time to forward anything you need. If you receive physical mail containing a check, it can be deposited electronically.
