πŸ“¬ About Stable

‍

Our mission is to make it simple to headquarter any business on the internet. Today, we provide companies with a business address and a dashboard to manage their physical mail online. Over 10,000+ companies like Gitlab, Glassdoor, and Indiegogo use Stable to automate their mailroom and act as their permanent business address with the IRS, state, and vendors.

‍

The rules that regulate US entities were written in the 1800s. Stable abstracts these antiquated requirements with tools that empower modern companies to move forward faster.

‍

These rules don't make sense for the way we work today β€” work takes place in the cloud and businesses are no longer tied to physical proximity or geography.

‍

We’re on a mission to fix the broken system of entity management. Starting with business addresses and mail, we’re abstracting the complex, archaic systems that make company-building painful and turning them into delightful experiences β€” so that modern businesses have the tools they need to move forward faster.

‍

We're backed by leading Silicon Valley investors like Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Shakti, Hustle Fund, and founders from companies like Lattice, Apartment List, and FlexJobs.

‍

Our business is at an inflection point. We’re growing quickly with a product people love and we’ve proven we can service companies of all stages and industries β€” from early-stage startups to publicly traded companies in industries like technology, logistics, and property management.

‍

This is an opportunity to join an early-stage startup as one of the first employees and do work that directly impacts the future of how companies are built.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Role

As Director of Finance at Stable, you’ll be the financial architect behind our growth β€” building the models, systems, and insights that power decision-making across the company.

As we expand into new markets and scale our physical operations, the need for financial precision and strategic clarity has never been greater β€” this is the moment to define the systems and insights that will guide how Stable grows.

A few of your responsibilities will include:

  • Own financial planning and analysis β€” transform Stable’s operating model into a living roadmap that informs investments, hiring plans, and growth decisions.
  • Lead budgeting and cost management β€” manage cash flow and accountability across teams, uncovering insights in our unit economics to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Build scalable finance infrastructure β€” implement systems, controls, and reporting processes that enables Stable to operate with speed and confidence.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys turning complexity into clarity, and wants to help build a category-defining company from the ground up. You’ll start as a hands-on individual contributor with the opportunity to build the finance function as Stable scales.

πŸ˜€ What you value

  • Be human: Lead with empathy, act with authenticity, and enjoy what you do.
  • Stay curious: Invent novel solutions by asking why, listening, and tinkering.
  • Act quickly with purpose: Focus on what matters, iteratively improve, and move urgently towards the goal.
  • Insist on exceptional outcomes: Strive for excellence and take ownership over the outcomes you deliver.
  • Exceed customer expectations: Create delightful experiences with each interaction.

‍

βœ… What You'll Do

Own FP&A and long-range modeling β€” build Stable’s operating model, forecast scenarios, and maintain monthly rollovers that guide company planning.

Lead budgeting and cash management β€” ensure spend stays aligned with goals, hold teams accountable to budgets, and manage cash runway.

Build scalable financial infrastructure β€” implement systems, internal controls, and processes to support accurate reporting and compliance.

Negotiate key contracts and vendor agreements β€” partner with department leads to optimize spend and secure favorable terms across suppliers and vendors.

Analyze unit economics and cost-to-serve β€” dive into physical operations to improve performance and efficiency.

Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team β€” provide insights on ROI and strategic tradeoffs to drive better decisions.

Support board and fundraising activities β€” prepare financials, materials, and data to communicate performance clearly.

Drive financial visibility and accountability β€” identify risks and opportunities through scenario planning and ensure KPIs are tracked, communicated, and used to drive accountability across teams.
